|PIANO with Margaret Buck Dip ABRSM|
|There's music in the air, come find it on the mountain.|
I started playing the piano in South Africa when I was 5 years old, and with parental interest and encouragement I went on to take exams with both Trinity College London and Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
I completed the Trinity College practical exams whilst still at school achieving Grade 8 Practical Certificate in 1964 and Grade 3 Theory in 1962.
After school I continued with music and achieved Grade 8 Theory with Associated Board in 1980 and Grade 6 Practical in 1979. During this time I had the privilege of being taught by Richard Cherry, an inspiring teacher and a composer.
In 2012 I achieved my Diploma from ABRSM.
Music, but especially classical music, including singing in choirs, has always been a part of my life ever since I can remember. It has taught me self-discipline, and self worth, but most wonderfully it has allowed self expression channeled through thought and beauty.
And the learning process continues...I am in contact with local and overseas teachers, and I also subscribe to a couple of music magazines in order to remain up-to-date with the teaching process.
I am a Professional Member of MTAQ and as per their requirements I do hold a Blue Card.
It is my hope to pass on the joy of playing the piano and of having music in ones life.
